Team-shared CI jobs are owned by Gearset Team Owners rather than individual users. This gives greater flexibility to teams to manage their CI jobs.

Only team owners can convert a CI job into a team-shared CI job.

How to convert a CI job

To convert a CI job, go into the job settings and select Convert to a team-shared CI job. This launches the conversion wizard.

Before Gearset can convert the CI job, you need to ensure that you have a team-shared version control system connection as well as a team-shared org connection set up. You can add these from the wizard.

First add the team-shared VCS connection (We recommend a service user for this)

Next, create a new a team-shared org connection, this will be to the same org as the user owned CI job (We recommend a service user for this)

This will authorize in the same way as when adding any org to Gearset.

Note: If you go Salesforce orgs under my connections you will notice that the org will be under My connections and Team-shared connections.

Once added you can Convert to team-shared org. Once both the team-shared VCS and org have been set up you can now convert the CI job to a team-shared CI job.

You can tell that a CI job is team owned by the team symbol in the sidebar of the CI job in the grid view.
