We do not recommend monitoring Sandbox orgs. Once a Sandbox org is refreshed a new org id is created which will break the link between your Salesforce org and the Flow error monitoring job which will cause the org to no longer be monitored for errors by Gearset

Setup instructions

Setting up your org for Flow error monitoring requires both generating an inbox address using Gearset and changing settings in your Salesforce org.

Step 1: Generate a Flow monitoring inbox address using Gearset

  1. Click on Flow error monitoring under the Observability category in the Gearset side panel.

  2. Click on Begin setup. (Note: If you've previously added a job, you can add a second job via the Actions button drop-down in the top right of the page.

  3. Choose the Salesforce production org you wish to monitor for Flow errors.

  4. Add a name for your job and click Next.

  5. Copy the automatically generated unique monitoring inbox address. It will take the general format of 325f-43a6-baed-3f2b23a91b53@eu.platform.gearset.com (Note: depending on the region your data resides it may be @us.platform.gearset.com or similar depending on region).

  6. Click Finish.

Monitoring Apex exceptions isn't currently supported

Add an existing Salesforce user to the list to continue receiving Apex alerts, or multiple recipients to the External Email Address field, separated by a semi-colon.

Step 2: Set the Gearset generated inbox address as email recipient(s) in Salesforce

  1. Log into your Salesforce Production org.

  2. Using Quick find , navigate to Apex Exception Email.

  3. Add the generated Gearset external email address in the previous step to the External Email Addresses field.

Step 3: Change default recipient address behaviour in Salesforce

  1. Log in to your Salesforce org.

  2. Using the Quick find, navigate to Process Automation Settings located under Process Automation.

  3. Locate the Send Process or Flow Error Email drop-down form field.

  4. Change the existing User Who Last Modified the Process or Flow default value to the Apex Exception Email Recipients option.

  5. Click Save.
