You can try Gearset yourself with a 30-day no-obligation trial. In this period you'll get unlimited access to all Gearset features, and free technical support throughout.

Signing up takes 60 seconds, with no credit card required and nothing to install in your orgs.

Creating a Gearset account

Go to https://gearset.com/ and click START FREE TRIAL (or go directly to https://app.gearset.com/create-account).

Select your desired data storage location.

Log in using one of your existing Salesforce, Google, or LinkedIn accounts.

If prompted to allow access by Salesforce, Google, or LinkedIn, click Allow. (You can revoke access at any time in your personal settings.)

Complete your Gearset profile by naming your Gearset team (or letting us create one for you using the name generator!), and entering a contact number.

Click CREATE ACCOUNT to finish setting up your profile.

That's it! After signing in, you'll have unrestricted access to all Gearset's features, with no usage limitations. Here are some key features to try during your trial.

Navigating Gearset

The first time you sign in to Gearset, you'll be greeted with our Welcome page. This page will give you handy guidance on getting started.

On the right hand side, you can see how many days are remaining on your trial, plus some guidance and demo videos on various features of Gearset.

In the center, you'll see options to connect your Salesforce orgs and any Git-based source control provider connections. Connecting your source and target orgs is the first step you need to take to try out our powerful comparison and deployment engine. Learn how to connect your orgs.

Click My trial on the left-hand side to open the menu. From here you can explore other areas of Gearset.

We suggest starting by selecting the Compare and deploy page, to run your first comparison and see side-by-side differences between your orgs. To find out more about running your first comparison and building a deployment, see our quick start guides.

Want a demo? Just get in touch

Our team can give you a guided demo of the app and discuss how Gearset could suit your specific requirements. Just book a consultation.

You can also reach us at [email protected], call +1 (833) 441 7687, or use our in-app chat.

Commonly asked questions

Will Gearset access the Salesforce org I log in with?

No. Gearset will not access the metadata from the Salesforce org you log into the app with. We only use your Salesforce/Google/LinkedIn account to create a local profile in Gearset. This saves you creating a separate Gearset account, and means we never store or access your user credentials.

Which account should I log in with?

Your Gearset profile will be linked to the account you first log in with, so it's a good idea to pick one that's going to stay around. Your production Salesforce login or a Google account are ideal, but you can also use any developer or sandbox account too. Just make sure to sign in with the same account each time.

Note when using sandboxes: when sandboxes are refreshed, your Salesforce user account is sometimes deleted and recreated. This can mean you'll lose access to your previous history in Gearset, as your Gearset account is tied to a specific Salesforce user. We recommend you don't use sandboxes for paid Gearset subscriptions.

How can I access technical support during my trial?

Use the live chat icon in the bottom right-hand corner to get free, fast support. Our support team typically reply in 5 minutes, and no question is too big or too small.

What should I do if I hit the OAUTH_APP_BLOCKED error?

This means your org is not allowing Gearset to connect to it. Follow these steps to unblock the necessary Connected Apps:

  1. Navigate to Setup and type Connected Apps into the Quick Find box.

  2. Click on Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  3. Locate the entries for the Gearset Apps.

  4. If the Action button for either app says Unblock, then this Connected App has been blocked. Click to Unblock each app.

  5. If Unblock is greyed out, you may need to click Install for both Gearset Deploy and Gearset apps. This will allow you to manage security settings for these apps.

Once installed, you will be able to click Unblock provided you have the necessary permissions in your org.
