Editing a policy allows you to adjust the criteria for a selected policy; start by selecting your desired policy from the associated archive that you'd like to edit.

Once you've selected the desired policy, you'll be able to change the policy criteria, as well as the review related objects. You can add or remove filter rules to the policy, apply advanced filtering methods, change the policy name, and preview matching records.

Note: The selected object for the policy cannot be changed from this menu -- if you'd like to select another object, you would have to create a new policy for that object.

On the next tab, you'll be able to review related objects. Gearset will scan for any objects related to the primary object and include any related child records in the archive. From there, you're given the option to simply update policy, or update policy & validate with a preview.

The Preview feature allows users to verify that the correct records are being backed up. It gives customers a chance to review the selected records before making any changes or modifications to their Salesforce org, ensuring they back up exactly what they need.

If the latter is chosen, do note that running the preview will turn off the policy's schedule, so that'll have to be rescheduled upon the completion of the preview.
