Once you have setup the Archive Viewer you may find that you wish to change the columns that are displayed of your archived records.

In most cases this can be done by changing the Default Search Layout of the archived object.

Once the Default Search Layout has been changed, Gearset will reflect the change in the Archive Viewer.

How to change the columns used in Archive Viewer

Gearset uses the columns that are selected under the Archived object-> Search Layouts -> Default layouts.

  1. In the below example for the Case object you can see selected columns in the "Default Layout" are: Status, Date/Time Opened, Subject.

  2. We can see this reflects in the Archive Viewer.

  3. We can now edit the "Default Layout" to include the "Case Number"

  4. Once saved we can see this reflect in the Archived Records.

FAQs

Can I change what column the archived records are filtered by?

No, there is no option to change the way to change what order the archived records are filtered by.

The object I have archived is part of a managed package so I can't edit the Default Layout for, but can I still edit the Archive Viewer?

If you can't edit the Default Layout then you are unable to change what is shown in the Archive Viewer, we do not currently have a way around this.
