Viewing Metadata in Salesforce from a Comparison

This article describes how you can easily view metadata in Salesforce from a metadata comparison.

When doing comparisons, it can be difficult to understand what the .xml is showing in the diff viewer.

For example if you have a complex flow or lightning page it can be difficult to understand what is being said, and it can be easier to go into the editor to see what has changed in the comparison.

To view what that metadata looks like in Salesforce you can hit the view in org... button next to the Item changed date in the comparison view.

Clicking that button will take you to the relevant part of Salesforce allowing you to quickly see what the metadata looks like in the Salesforce org.

Note: This is not available for all metadata types. If there is one that you want added then please let us know in the in-app chat.
