How to connect the org via "Custom domain" option

On your Salesforce orgs page in Gearset, click on Add new organization... and select "Custom domain" on the dropdown.

How should my custom domain URL look?

Remember that your "Custom domain" must follow the required format where https:// is present in the URL:

Or optionally without https:// but with URL still ending with salesforce.com, like so:

  • gearset-35a-dev-ed.develop.my.salesforce.com

Why is it important that "salesforce.com" is included in the custom domain?

It is particularly important to include salesforce.com at the end of your custom domain's name.

Otherwise, the Connect button in Gearset may remain greyed out, and you won't be able to progress with connecting the org.

Below video shows how to add a new org connection via "Custom domain".

How to find custom domain URL in the org?

In your Salesforce org navigate to Company Settings -> My Domain.

Then in this section: "My Domain Details", you'll find "Current My Domain URL".
