The Pipeline Features view starts with Open features, which shows every open pull request on your Pipeline. That's a useful starting point, but most teams find themselves applying the same filters again and again to see a particular slice of their pull requests. Rather than reapplying those filters every time, you can save your filter combination as a custom view and come back to it in one click.
When to use a custom view
Custom views are useful whenever you find yourself applying the same filters repeatedly. A few common examples:
Pending checks to keep an eye on the pull requests your team is waiting on
What's wrong on my Pipeline to track failing pull requests and anything else that needs attention
My PRs for individual contributors who only need to see their own work
Stale PRs to keep your Pipeline tidy by surfacing anything that has been open longer than your team's usual cycle
Custom views are personal to you. Other people on your team won't see your saved views, and you won't see theirs.
Saving a view
When you apply filters in the Features view, the view name at the top of the page shows an asterisk (*) to indicate you have unsaved changes. Click Save view next to the view name to open the save dialog.
From the dialog you can:
Save as new view to create a new entry in My saved views, with a name of your choosing.
Update existing view to overwrite your current view with the latest filter changes.
You can also toggle Set as default view so the view loads automatically each time you open the Features tab.
Once saved, your view appears under My saved views in the left-hand sidebar, with a count of matching pull requests. Clicking it reapplies your filters in one click.
Discarding or updating changes
If you tweak the filters on a saved view, the asterisk reappears on the view name. You have two options:
Click the undo arrow next to the Save view button to discard your changes and revert to the saved filters.
Click Save view, choose Update existing view, and save to overwrite the saved view with your new filters.
Setting a default view
The default view is the view that loads automatically when you open the Features tab. You can set any saved view as your default while saving it, or save again over an existing view with the toggle turned on.
If you don't set a default, Open features is used.
What's coming next
This is the first version of saved views, and they're personal to each user. Future updates will look at team-shared views and additional default views out of the box. If you have feedback or suggestions, please reach out via our in-app chat.
