Introduction
Manually adding Data 360 components to a data kit just to deploy a change can be a stressful and time-consuming task. It often creates a bottleneck, forcing teams to deal with complex setup steps instead of just deploying their work.
Gearset has simplified this process by giving users an option to select individual Data 360 metadata, removing the extra layers of friction and making it much faster to get your changes into the target environment.
Prerequisites
Before deploying Data 360 metadata, you may need to enable Data Cloud in both source and target orgs. You may also need to assign the Data Cloud Admin permission set to your deployment user.
Deploying Data 360 metadata in Gearset
1. Click Data 360 tab in the metadata filter.
2. By default, Deploy via Data Kit is selected in the filter. To deploy Data 360 components individually, select the Deploy individual components option.
3. From the filter, choose the metadata types you want to deploy and click Update comparison to proceed.
4. The individual components are now shown in the comparison view. Select the components you wish to include, then click Next.
5. Gearset will display a summary of the deployment package. Review it thoroughly to confirm all desired components are included and click Validate deployment.
6. If the validation process is successful, Click Deploy. Gearset will then begin the deployment process deploying Data 360 components.
Supported metadata
Currently, we support the Identity Resolution and Search Index metadata types. We’re working on adding more metadata types. If you’d like to see support for other Data 360 metadata types, please let us know via the in-app chat.
