To help simplify the audit process, you can link your Pipelines releases in Gearset to a ServiceNow Change Request. Once linked, a list of the features included in the release will be posted to the Change Request description, to make cross-referencing between the two much easier.

To get started, you need to set up a connection to ServiceNow through Gearset.

Once you have a ServiceNow connection, you should see the ServiceNow tab in the release sidebar when viewing a release.

You can link a Change Request to the release by entering the Change Request Number into the input box and clicking the Connect Change Request button. When you connect the Change Request, we post a list of the features included in the release to the Change Request description field. Therefore, you should only create this link when the release is finalised and ready for review.

When there is a Change Request connected, you should see some information about the Change Request including the description with the list of features.

This screen also includes the State of the Change Request and will display a warning if it is not in the Implement state since this implies there may be additional steps to be completed before deployment.
