Users have written to us with questions on how to retrieve Standard value sets using Gearset.

Sometimes, when users only specify the Standard picklist value set metadata type in the metadata filter, Gearset shows no results, which can be very confusing. This article explains how to retrieve the Standard value set you need.

For the Salesforce metadata API to return the Standard value set, you need to include the Custom object metadata type in your filter too:

Are Standard value sets supported on Financial Services Cloud orgs?
