Users have written to us with questions on how to retrieve Standard Value Sets using Gearset.
Sometimes, when users only specify the Standard value set
metadata type in the metadata filter, Gearset shows no results, which can be very confusing. This article explains how to retrieve the Standard value set
you need.
For the Salesforce metadata API to return the Standard value set
, you need to include the Custom object
metadata type in your filter too:
Here is an example of CaseStatus
being retrieved with the metadata type of Custom object
selected in the comparison filter, and then filtered to only return the Case
object, and the Standard value set

Standard Value Sets on Financial Services Cloud orgs
Are Standard Value Sets supported on Financial Services Cloud orgs?
Yes, Gearset should be able to retrieve those metadata types as well.
In June 2024 we added support for the ApplicationFormStage
Standard Value Set, which is available specifically on Financial Services Cloud orgs.
