Sometimes you might need to remove a project entirely, or you might want to archive old projects to revisit them later. This guide will walk you through both processes.

Archiving projects

Archiving a project preserves its settings and history without active monitoring or analysis. To archive, simply select the project, go to Settings, and click Archive. The project will now be Archived

By default, archived projects won't appear in your main list of projects. To view them, you'll need to adjust the status filter and select the "Archived" option. This filter resets each time you log in, helping to keep your project page clutter-free.

Restoring an archived project

To restore a project that you've archived, first select the project. You'll notice a banner indicating that the project is archived. On the right-hand side of this banner, you'll see an option to restore this project. After selecting this, you'll need to confirm the appropriate connections to bring your project back to an active state. After restoring your project, it may appear as outdated. If this occurs, we recommend scanning your project. This ensures that Clayton has an up-to-date view of your project, incorporating any changes that may have occurred since it was archived.

Deleting a Project

When you delete a project, you're permanently erasing all its data, and this action cannot be undone. Once a project is deleted, it's gone for good poof, vanished, ceased to exist.

To delete a project:

  1. First, you'll need to archive the project.

  2. After archiving, refresh the page.

  3. You'll then see options to either restore the project or delete it permanently.

Please, take a moment to think it through before hitting that delete button!
