Upon completing your first comparison with Gearset you'll be asked for permission to show notifications. If permission is granted, Gearset will notify you when a comparison or validation has finished when the browser is minimized or a different tab is currently selected.

What if I change my mind?

If you initially choose to deny notification permission but later decide that you want the feature enabled (or vice versa), you will need to edit the permission settings in your browser.

Google Chrome for PC

  1. At the top right, click the triple dot symbol and then Settings.

  2. On the left-hand side, under Privacy and security, click Site settings.

  3. Click Notifications.

  4. Add what Gearset will appear as in the list to be consistent with other steps. Gearset should be listed as https://app.gearset.com:443.

Firefox for PC

  1. At the top right, click the menu button and then Options.

  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go down to the Permissions section.

  3. Click the Settings… button next to Notifications.

  4. Here you can choose to Allow or Block notifications for each site. Gearset should be listed as https://app.gearset.com.

Microsoft Edge for PC

  1. At the top right, click the triple dot symbol and then Settings.

  2. Under Advanced settings, click View advanced settings.

  3. Under Website permissions, click Manage.

  4. Here you can edit the permissions for each site. Gearset should be listed as “app.gearset.com”. You can click on this entry to edit notification permissions.

Safari for Mac

  1. Open Preferences or use the keyboard shortcut “Command + ,”.

  2. Click on Websites.

  3. Click on the Notifications tab in the left-hand column.

  4. Here you can choose to Allow or Deny notifications for each site.

You can see the status of notification permissions for Gearset on the Notifications page of My account.
